School Counseling Goal:
To coordinate comprehensive services to all students, making a holistic impact on student success. The student advisor will address academic, personal/social, and college/career development of all students through individual, classroom and school-wide programs. The student advisor will assist in helping students reach their highest potential and help to build confidence and success in a safe and welcoming environment.
What does the student advisor do?
- Helps students struggling socially, emotionally or academically.
- Refers students to mental health professionals through TBCHS Huron Health Clinic.
- Coordinates dual enrollment courses in partnership with Alpena Community College.
- Provides a comprehensive Career Education Program, to include individual goal setting, career and college exploration and planning as well as guidance with financial aid.
- 504 Building Coordinator.
- TRIO Talent Search Liaison.
- Tracks student progress ensuring Michigan Merit Curriculum requirements are being met and Educational Development Plans align.
- Consults with teachers, parents and administration to provide comprehensive support to students.
- Supports school safety through the Michigan Behavioral Threat Assessment Management program.
- Middle School/High School Scheduling Coordinator.
- SSD Building Coordinator. Ensuring student accommodations are in place for state testing.

My door is always open to assist students and parents as they navigate through the process of academic and personal success, and future planning.
